why enya?
i've always been curious - what's the attraction of enya exactly?

i like deep forest, i like enigma, i like vas, i like dead can dance..... but enya? i just can't listen. maybe it's the piano, maybe it's the symphonic sound, or maybe it's just simply cuz it sounds way too much like "easy listening" music.

btw, since there were a lot of comments made about enigma's newest one, i went & listened to 30-second cuts at www.cdnow.com, & i'd have to say that it didn't sound all that exciting (but maybe the whole thing would be better..hard to tell).

Voyageur
Well, Enigma's fifth CD took me a couple listens to get used to it...

...but now, wow, I love it!

I heard Deep Forest's most recent release is also a fairly major deviation from past productions and that a lot of people had great difficulty getting used to it. I haven't heard any of it yet but it's interesting how both Enigma and Deep Forest have gotten very similar reactions to their respective recent releases.

</i>Enigma Fans!
Are there any Enigma fans out there? Their new CD, Voyageur, was released today (September 30th). Some Enigma fans seem to be dissapointed, but I am definitely not.

My favorite track is From East To West. Would like to hear what other fans' favorite tracks are.

Hello all, just an update on the 5th Enigma Album, taken from Enigmafan :

At long last both Virgin Germany and Crocodile Music the management company of Enigma, confirmed today that the NEW Enigma 5 album will be called "VOYAGEUR" The release date for the album will be September 8th, 2003. A single of the same name will be released 2 weeks before the album on August 25th, 2003. These dates are all Germany and Europe proposed with other countries following a simular but maybe slightly later pattern. Track listing expected to follow very soon so keep watching this space for further details. GREAT NEWS FOR ALL ENIGMA FANS!!

Dreams and meanings
Ok folks as you know last nite I had a reading done by Grandma Joy. During which I told her that Wolf has been in my dreams lately and so has Cara Wynds (who is my Celtic Woman protector) So Joy told me to meditate and ask Wolf what it is I need to hear.

So that nite I laid in bed with my meditation music and just let my mind focus on "Guide me Wolf....Show me Wolf" I know I must have fallen alseep or was just very relzex but the images were sooooo clear.

At one point I saw Wolf walking..and then it burst into flame like a phynex..and then I saw something rise from the ashes...it was North (a past life of mine CaveMan) ..and then Wolf came from the ashes and lead North off into a mist and then in the mist was the mate of North. Wolf circled the two and brought them together. Walked around them keepin them safe...

Then it changed to Kristina laying in a hospital bed with her family around her. She had lots of wires around her head..so I knew it had to be concearnin her surgery. I saw wolf paws on her hands as if it was tryin to hold her hands....and on top of those there was a bear paw.

Then it was back to a wooded area by a stream and Wolf was sitting looking at me. It then turned and walked off into a Nort East direction and howled as it disapeared.

The rest of my dreams that night were about work and me playin rugby. Those dreams I didn't write down I mainly wrote down the ones with the animals in it since that is what I wanted to mainly know about.

hey so im new to this community. i dig a lot of new age/ambient/electronic music (which is what it seems this place is all about) so hopefully this will be cool.

on another note, has anyone else heard the new Delerium single? i think its pretty good, much more poppy then thier older stuff, but the song grows on you.

Enigma 5
Unless memory fails me, I think this is my first contribution to mysticplace. Yeah, hey Ruminator, welcome to mysticplace, man! (There, I did it so none of you have to.) Anyway, Enigma is easily in my top-3 faves. Rumors were once abundant that Enigma 5 would be released in late May, but then that date has since been pushed back. How far pushed back is what I've been wondering. Has anyone heard anything? And, have any sneak preview clips been released?

Great New Age/ Ambient Station
I'm new, so I'll tell you a little about me. I'm 15, I play the oboe/bagpipes/piano, and I live in a suburb of chicago. It's so hard for me to find a place of tranquility, Arlington Heights is a very heavily populated and busy town. When I grow up, I want to be an ecologist and part time New age musician. I also write a lot: check our my journal if you want to see a few poems. I don't have much of a religion, though I'm getting a little spiritual recently.

I usually listen to David Arkenstone, Enya, Loreena Mckennitt, and Enigma, but I'm discovering lots of great new songs at www.live365.com . The best station I've found so far is called
"THE COSMIC ISLAND", it has all sorts of great ambient, new age stuff. If you know of any other stations, let me know because I'm trying to find new songs and get a variety.

Oh I also have a question. Does anyone here listen to Northsound Music? what happened to the company? Their site is down and they are taking the CD's out of some of the stores. did they go out of business or something? They had really high-quality music there.

I hope to talk to you all soon!

Just a little bit of things I found
I just thought I would share these things....and tell you if you want such info sent to your mail box go to BELIEFNET.COM and take a peak.

It is crucial for you to understand what meditation is. It is not some special posture, and it's not just a set of mental exercises. Meditation is the cultivation of mindfulness and the application of that mindfulness once cultivated. You do not have to sit to meditate. You can meditate while washing the dishes. You can meditate while washing the dishes. You can meditate in the shower, or roller skating, or typing letters. Meditation is awareness, and it must be applied to each and every activity of one's life. This isn't easy.

-Henepola Gunaratana, "Mindfulness in Plain English"

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathingthat's why we recommend it daily.

Wow! I wish I'd known about this place before it died!
I'm Luve..er Lauren..and a furry artist online.
My art is very heavily inspired by music.

Sorry it so big, but no ever seems to be around anyway...

I'm into New Age, World/international, darkwave, ambient, ethereal, and neo-classical/neo-folk, and some death/doom metal-

ENIGMA, Delerium/Krusty Thirsk, Enya, Adiemus/Miriam Stockley, Era, Sacred Spirits, Cusco, Sarah Brightman, Claire Voyant, Amber Asylum, Attrition, Rasputina, Unto Ashes, Therion, Lycia, along with some Amethystium, Dead Can Dance, Dark Moor, Tristania, Theatre of Tragedy and *gasp* Cradle of Filth. Its good to be open minded I say...I'm not a spiritual person, nor do I belive in God, though I'd LIKE to believe there is one..I guess I'd feel Iw as lying to myself.
I truly hope this place isn't dead! I'd love to meet some of you- because I don't know a SINGLE person, both IRL and online who's into New Age. This is a wonderful community to have.
Thanks for your time~

-.-; This place is pretty much dead, hm? Does anyone actually even read this anymore? Meh. =/ It's worth a shot. I'm Sirené, 17, and I live in Texas, USA. I'm a first year college student with a variety of interests, still developing and expanding. My actions are usually more based on intuition than anything, but lately I've actually applied use of reason in my life as well. Heh. What a concept. To state the obvious, I love new age music. And I did so before it became "trendy". *sighs* ^^; My interest in new age music actually stemmed from my interest in a particular dream artist, Robert Miles. His first CD, Dreamland, was primarily of the dream/techno genre, while the second branched off into more the new age. From there, I gradually and incidently stumbled upon other new age artists I adore, which now include - Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Enigma, Delerium, Amethystium, Aquaria, 2002, Anggun, Spirit Nation, Deep Forest, Sarah Brightman, Keiko Matsui, and others. Well, I have to go, so I'll have to cut this entry short. Lucky you. ^~ So, I hope to talk to some of you and exchange favourite artists and such sometime, hm?

Namaste..

Hello fellow new age music listners. I have a lot of the CDs and Artist mentioned in past posts. There is one that I realy like. It is called STATE OF GRACE. IT has a VERY moving version of Amazing Grace on it and a few others songs but most are instermental.
I wish there was an ENYA tour would be real nice to see her I bet. I found a few things on the net that i like on MP3.com. ANybody got any "rare" unheard of artists that they care to share?
